your go to shirt: gant

Let's travel back in time to the days when I was living//thriving doing the city life in London...

Oh those good, bloody good days...

And working in the city, I struck a liking to English contemporary style, one for the working woman. I sought pieces that were wearable and yet distinct, with that seven days a week appeal, crafted to fit effortlessly into my dynamic life. An emphasis however on pieces with both quality and longevity.

Brands such as Victoria Beckham, Stella McCartney, Whistles and Reiss all dominated my closet.

But what was that one quintessential piece that was always in my closet? My GANT collared shirt. Bought my first gant shirt before my first interview following my undergraduate degree- won't ever forget popping into selfridges on oxford street, up to womens on the 2nd floor to pick up my very first GANT Pinpoint Oxford Shirt.

Regular fit, however more on the fitted side

That really nice cotton that didn't wrinkle easily

Button down collar

Barrel cuffs (my personal favourite)

Boxpleat, locker loop

And season after season, I continued to add to my collection. Different colours and patterns, but always same style. This season however, GANT released a new style that I had to get my hands on... the Rugger Kick Ass Slub 60s Collar Shirt.

This shirt features a distinctive new collar on the traditional sporty, super soft slub shirt-

I personally love this relaxed boyfriend fit (except GANT refers it as the Ex-Boyfriend fit...I love) which includes all the aspects of the OG:

Iconic yoke, back boxpleat and hanging locker loop.

So how to style a seemingly basic piece?

I always opt for a modern silhouette, tucking the shirt into my high-waisted trousers. For something more casual, I'd pair with jeans and white trainers (off-duty look) or grab some tapered trousers for something more work appropriate. If the colouring of the shirt is more natural (white/navy/blue/gray) I would make a statement with my trousers either in colour or print. And of course the same applies for the opposite.

So now it's your turn to get your hands on this shirt, or any other style that you fancy. and use my discount code LANI20 for 20% off your first order// would be rude not to shop now right?

Massive thank you to GANT for sponsoring this post; all thoughts and opinions are my own.
